Located in the northeast corner of Ogle County, this 321-acre preserve operated by the Byron Forest Preserve District features rolling hills made up of mature oak-hickory woodlands. Limestone bluffs or dells are found along the clear-running Hall Creek which flows through the entire length of the preserve. This preserve was designated an Illinois Nature Preserve in 2018 and is part of 1650 acres of protected land on the Ogle/Winnebago County border with other land managed by the Natural Land Institute and the Forest Preserves of Winnebago County. Many rare birds and plants can be found here.
