Mt. Carroll welcomes the Christmas season with activities to get you in the holiday spirit on Dec 1-2.

The Clauses are on the scene

Santa and Mrs. Claus will greet children at the Mt. Carroll Library from 4:15–5:45 p.m. and then parade to the courthouse square for the Christmas tree lighting at 6 p.m. They will also greet everyone after the tree lighting. Toys for Tots will distribute gift bags to all children.

Get your shopping done

Holiday shopping at Market and Main occurs at the Kraft Building on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. It will feature 15+ vendors offering a wide variety of holiday gifts, baked goods, and more!

Historic House Tour

The historic Halderman House will be open for tours on Friday from 4–8 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m.–1 p.m. This Italianate-style house was built in 1854 for Nathaniel Halderman, an early settler of Carroll County and Mt. Carroll’s first mayor. The house was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1980. Admission is $5 each.
