Dynamic bands, both local and from afar

Dement Town Music Fest is set to be a memorable night of music and community spirit in Dixon.

The second Dement Town Music Fest returns to the Dixon, IL, Dement Town neighborhood on Sept. 7, promising an even bigger and better experience after last year’s success. Headlining the event is Hello Weekend, the dynamic Chicago cover band that wowed crowds in 2023 with their electrifying mix of hits spanning decades and genres, from Lady Gaga to Guns N’ Roses.

Joining them are local favorites Burn ‘N Bush, known for their lively acoustic performances, and The Empty Pockets, a Chicago-based band offering a unique blend of blues, Americana, folk, and rock.

Food & axe throwing, too.

Beyond the music, the festival features delicious food from Lil’ Smoked and Mary’s Diner and drinks served by PJ’s. Attendees can also enjoy axe throwing and bag throwing while soaking up the festive atmosphere. Picnic table seating is available, and guests are welcome to bring their own chairs, though coolers are not permitted.

Admission

Tickets are $15 in advance or $20 at the gate. The gates open at 2 p.m., and music will be played from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. The event is open to all ages, though those 21 and older should bring ID for alcohol purchases.
