Busy fall season coming up at the CMAAA

Exhibition details
During the month of October, CMAAA presents new art exhibits by pastel artist Paula Kuehl on the Feature Wall and oil painter Carol Bingham in the Taft Gallery. The 3rd exhibition is a new Rock River Valley Painters Guild exhibit.
Paula Kuehl | Oct. 1-31 | Feature Wall
Paula Kuehl of McHenry, Illinois, has been painting since 1981. She started painting with oil paints, which were fun but slow to dry and would become muddy if you didn’t wait for them to dry. When she discovered pastels, she switched to them and never went back. She feels her work is a study capturing the essence of life – whether it be in a child, a flower, or a landscape. Pastels are like life – vibrant and full of energy. That is what she attempts to capture in her works.
Carol Bingham | Oct. 1 – Nov. 30 | Taft Gallery
Carol Bingham of Sycamore grew up in a small town in central Illinois, where she spent much of her childhood playing near rivers and streams. Her early childhood experiences have provided the basis for the paintings on display at CMAAA. She uses traditional oil techniques, first applying opaque, then transparent, layers of color in her work. BFA Illustration summa cum laude Northern Illinois University.
Rock River Valley Painters Guild | Oct. 4-Nov. 4
The Rock River Valley Painters Guild (RRVPG) is a not-for-profit organization promoting local art and art education in North Central Illinois. The RRVPG Member exhibit will feature work by ten local artists.
